Nos es familiar, como padres<\/a> y educadores, la cantidad de trastornos que hoy en d\u00eda sufren nuestros adolescentes. Son cada vez m\u00e1s, y en edades m\u00e1s tempranas, los que padecen trastornos emocionales, alimenticios, etc., necesitando, en muchos casos, la ayuda de psic\u00f3logos e incluso debiendo someterse a tratamientos psiqui\u00e1tricos. De hecho, la OMS<\/a> confirma que entre el 10 y el 20% de los adolescentes padecen alteraciones mentales. Se trata de una cifra muy elevada, si tenemos en cuenta que la adolescencia cubre una franja de edad no demasiado extensa.<\/p>\n

La psiquiatra Montserrat Dolz<\/a> nos comparte en este v\u00eddeo un breve dec\u00e1logo, elaborado en el con-texto del proyecto Faros del hospital de Sant Joan de D\u00e8u (Barcelona), para la prevenci\u00f3n de los trastornos mentales en los adolescentes.<\/p>\n

Entre los puntos que comenta Dolz, destaca cuidarse<\/a> y llevar una vida sana, fomentar el deporte en la familia, tener buenos h\u00e1bitos tecnol\u00f3gicos, la escucha activa y el acompa\u00f1amiento del adolescente. Adem\u00e1s, confirma la importancia de dar ejemplo para poder ser el espejo donde nuestros hijos se pue-dan mirar.<\/p>\n

Nos recuerda tambi\u00e9n que el cerebro adolescente es un cerebro en desarrollo y que el entorno familiar es clave en el buen modelaje del mismo. El cerebro no cambia ni madura solo, sino que hemos de ayudarle, contribuyendo con \u00e9l a trav\u00e9s de buenas experiencias vitales.<\/p>\n

Hemos de ser capaces de seguir gestionando la alimentaci\u00f3n, los ritmos del sue\u00f1o o el tiempo libre de nuestros hijos adolescentes de igual forma que lo hac\u00edamos cuando eran m\u00e1s peque\u00f1os. No debemos vivir la etapa adolescente de nuestros hijos como una carga, sino como una oportunidad de modelar un adulto sano: f\u00edsica, emocional e intelectualmente.<\/p>\n
